My Project

In our K-2 special education class, each of my amazing students learns in unique and creative ways. They thrive with hands-on activities that allow them to express themselves, develop social skills, and engage in their school community. I’m requesting child-safe digital cameras to help them participate in a photography and yearbook classroom vocation program that will allow them to document school events, host a school-wide picture day, and create a yearbook as part of their vocational training.

These cameras will open doors to new learning experiences by giving my students the opportunity to develop real-world skills such as teamwork, communication, and responsibility.

The act of taking photos will enhance their fine motor skills and allow them to creatively explore their environment. Additionally, the project will build their confidence as they interact with peers and staff members in their roles as school photographers.

Our goal is to create an end-of-year yearbook, celebrating the memories and accomplishments of the entire school, all from the perspective of my students. This project will also give my students a chance to see themselves as capable contributors, adding value to the school community and creating something tangible they can be proud of.

Each child in my class has individual strengths, and this program will allow them to shine in a fun and supportive way. Please help us bring this project to life, enabling my students to gain meaningful skills while creating lasting memories.
