This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The number one quality I love about my students is their inquiring minds. I am a facilitator in the class and their inquires help guide our lessons for the class. No matter how much I think I am prepared and believe that I have all possible questions answered, they come up with new ones. I constantly let my students know that I do not know everything and the questions that I do not have answers for, both of us will look for an answer together.

I love that they "love" coming to my class and put their trust in me to teach them what they need to be successful.

My students come to me from different ethical backgrounds but all are equally bi-literate and bilingual. Their perseverance shows through their continuing dedication in learning the second language they have been exposed to since Kindergarten. My students are not perfect but their qualities that they bring to the class are positive and make our learning true and exciting!

My Project

In my class, hands on activities are very important. From Math to Reading, students are actively learning through out the year. Normally, an adult will take pictures and record the presentations and lessons. I believe if students are to be ready for the 21st Century, they need to take ownership of all aspects of their learning, including taking and printing pictures of their work for their portfolios. They will have the opportunity to add color and life to their portfolios with a camera and a printer that is available for them to use in class.
