My Project

This project was created to help my scholars receive the basic essentials needed in the classroom as well as create a SEL / Cozy Corner.

My Why

As a dedicated teacher, my passion has always been teaching children and ensuring they learn what is needed to take them to and through college. Since I was a child, I always knew I would become a teacher. I dreamed of helping people and one day making a difference in my community through various avenues of education.

SEL Corner

Every year, my classroom consists of a SEL Corner/ Cozy Corner. This is a corner where scholars have a chance to decompress and metacognitively think about their emotions. In my classroom, the SEL Corner is a designated space where students can go when they need to regulate their emotions. It is also a place where students can go if they are feeling tired and overwhelmed.

I believe social-emotional learning is vital for students because it teaches them crucial life skills, including the ability to understand themselves, develop a positive self-image, take responsibility for their actions, and forge relationships with the people around them.

Basic Materials

The basic materials on my list will be used every day in the classroom. From math manipulatives to plain white paper, we will be needing about every essential you can think of. We need paper, a rug, a storage organizer, math manipulatives and a host of other materials.
