This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am always trying to convince my students that they are artists. Many of them don't feel like they have enough skill or talent to be called an artist. However I know differently! All of my middle schoolers are artists. They generate an idea, execute a plan, create an original work, revise and reflect on what they have created and then showcase it to their peers and families much like an artist does.

I want to give my students an experience that makes them feel more like the artists they are!

Instead of painting on paper like we usually do, I want to give them canvas and new brushes to feel more like an artist as they create original paintings!
