My Students

I teach 25 pretty awesome third grade scholars and I love each and every one of them.

Every one of these students is special and unique in their own way. Most speak fluent Spanish and are beginning to learn the English language. Some come from homes where a grandparent is their primary caretaker. A couple of scholars belong to our nutrition club, a program where they are sent home with a backpack of food to help feed their families over the weekend. But, while they have their own challenges, every single family sends their child to school prepared to learn every day. I take my job very seriously and want nothing but the best for my scholars. While I may have high expectations of behavior and student work, all of my scholars know I care about each one of them.

My Project

I am requesting high interest books for my scholars to add to their home libraries during the holiday season. Most of my scholars have mentioned not having books at home, and many borrow books from my classroom library.

While I love that my books are well loved and read, I would like to surprise my group of scholars with some of their favorite titles to add to their home libraries.

I know they would be very surprised when they open their gifts from me. They will especially be thrilled with The One and Only Ivan since we will have recently learned about animal habitats.
