Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school is dedicated to exceeding high expectations in education. While we are focused on developing the academic, social, and emotional skills students need to become college-ready, we also want to ensure students feel safe and loved when they enter our classrooms.
I am looking forward to the upcoming school year to meet the incredible students - many with unique learning styles and diverse backgrounds and cultures!
My Project
This past year, I had many 8th grade students who were interested in photography. They would take pictures around school, at sporting events and and school activities, however almost all of them would use their phones.
While phones can be a great option, I want to provide students with opportunities to learn something new, practice and ultimately showcase their work in ATPI competitions and a yearbook, which our school hasn't produced since 2015.
I am certified journalism educator and I am excited to bring back the yearbook this year, and having a camera will bring us one step closer to making that a reality!
