Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love teaching foreign languages to my middle schoolers! They get so excited leaning new vocabulary and practicing their skills every day! Using headphones immerses students in the sound of a language, helping them to hear pronunciation, patterns, expressions, and accents.

The use of headphones in class is so important because it allows students to work independently as they learn and model new vocabulary and phrases.

Assessments are also frequently given independently with the use of videos and auditory examples. Having their own headphones will help them learn and practice at their own pace, without the distraction of 30 + computers projecting different sounds out into the classroom.

This project will impact approximately 150 students every year. Some students cannot afford to buy their own headphones or replace them if they get broken. Having extras in class would benefit all my students a great deal! Thank you in advance!
