My Students

Did you always want to learn how to play the piano? Well, my high school students have an opportunity to learn how to play the piano or develop their piano skills in a piano lab. To make beautiful music would be something to share with the world; they just can't do it at the same time.

My high school students are a joy to teach.

We have great student-teacher relationships built on trust and respect. They come from different ethnic and economic backgrounds. Some students have private music teachers while others dream of someone taking the time to teach them how to play an instrument. Why bother? They couldn't afford to rent one. Well, my school is fortunate to have a piano lab where beginning-to-advanced level students can learn and study how to play the piano. As the piano teacher, it is my job to meet the students' needs when they enter my class. If they are serious about learning the instrument, then I'm serious about giving them everything they need to succeed.

My Project

We can all practice together, just not at the same time. The purchase of headphones for the lab would allow each student to listen to their own playing without interrupting another student's practice. It's that simple. No headphones means only 7 students will have the opportunity to practice during class at one time, rather than 20.

It's great to see high school students be able to use some time during the school day to devote to making music.

Funding this project would mean more of our students would be able to rehearse without interruption to eventually perform beautiful music they have worked so hard to perfect.
