This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher of predominantly Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners, I understand the importance of different learning styles. Listening to audio books helps all students have access to rich literature. It builds fluency skills and a deeper love of reading.
Access to listening devices help children to build upon their vocabulary, improve their listening and language skills, and be exposed to a variety of story structures.
The donations will help improve my classroom by allowing my students to follow along with readings by listening to audio recordings on their headphones. Since I have many English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities, they will be able to learn new vocabulary, develop critical listening skills, and begin to listen to books above their level.
