My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, my students are faced with many dilemmas both in and out of the classroom. Even those faced with many dilemmas daily, I am looking to keep them engaged and provide my students with a creative, fun, and fascinating learning experience.
"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.
Many of them are raised in single-parent homes, and all students receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. From the time they walk into my classroom, I'm focused on meeting every student's needs that enter my class. I cannot control their lives after they leave school; however, I can control their experience while they are present at school. By meeting these goals, I hope to inspire even our low-level learners to continue the path of academic excellence.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "new home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The pencil sharper, workbooks, headphones, dry eraser markers, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may create books. The chart paper will be used to create anchor charts that reflect the discussions we have during our mini-lessons.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful writing.
We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long reader and critical thinkers. As the teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on and the more students are exposed to learning they will become more fluent readers. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality.
