My Students

My school is a Title I public school located in the Bronx with the majority of students on free or reduced lunch. We have students living in single-parent homes, shelters, and foster care. Our students are faced with many challenges. As a teacher during this pandemic, I want our classroom whether brick and mortar or remotely to be an inviting, comfortable and safe place where my students have access to all resources to support their social, emotional, and academic success.

As a public school teacher, I am faced with many obstacles to make remote learning successful.

I would like to optimize technology resources to provide an equitable learning experience for students who opt to learn fully remotely due to this pandemic.

My Project

In this project I am asking for wireless headphones that are mean to reduce any background noises! With all the changes in our learning I am now teaching students in the building and at home virtually. With little time to spare I am often walking around the building with my laptop open as my lessons ends with one class and I head to a live session with others. While being on the run, it can often be hard for students to hear me and vice versa.

Having noise canceling headphones will be extremely helpful to my students, in that they will be able to start having an easier time focusing to what is being said by me without the background noises.

Strong communication during these times is so important for our at home learners as they have been isolated enough in a physical sense. Limiting the noise they hear around me while we engage in our virtual lessons, will assure them that when we are will let them know when we are logged on together they have my undivided attention.placed in.
