My Students

I am a 1st-grade teacher in a low income/high poverty school district. My students overcome challenges on a daily basis in and outside of the classroom. They work hard each day and do their best to succeed. My classroom is filled with positivity, creativity, and laughter.

My students teach me how to overcome adversity and hardship each day.

They are learning the skills they will need to help them succeed in their educational journey. Together as a classroom family, we teach each other how to be kind, thoughtful, determined, and hardworking individuals. Due to the Covid-19 virus, my classroom is going to look different this year. My students will need extra resources to learn and stay safe.

My Project

We are going back into the classroom! I will be wearing a mask while I am teaching. This will be challenging for my student who are in the classroom and those who are virtual to hear my voice. That's why I need your help. I would like to provide my students with the best instruction possible by getting a voice amplifier.

This will allow my voice to be heard through my mask.

First grade is an important time when children need to learn foundational reading skills! It will be very challenging to teach letter sounds, blending and fluency while wearing a mask. So much of reading has to do with mouth formation and clear letter sounds. Having a voice amplifier will help my students greatly!
