Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students range from grades one to five and consists of one hundred students. These students typically are in our program from 2:15-6:00 pm and on early days 12:00-6:00pm. During this time, our program has many different rotations that help enrich our students' education. Our program for some students is their only opportunity to finish their homework, have computer access for homework and a chance to have a healthy snack after school. We are looking to enrich our program and bring in materials that will not only help us as educators, but help our students make better progress in education.

My Project

We are an after school program of over one hundred kids. Our program consists of different rotations after school to enrich their education and utilize resources available after school.(ie. computers for students who may not have one at home, tutoring help for those students who may not have help at home, etc.)

We are striving for a way to communicate with students and staff without yelling across campus or raising our voices so the students can hear us. Bringing these walkie talkies into our program will allow us to communicate with the other teachers in the other classrooms without disruption to the students.(ie. letting the other teachers know which student needs to go to reading partners or meet with their teacher, or that they are leaving for the day.) The microphone/megaphone will also allow us to talk to the children without raising our voices or yelling so all can hear!
