About My Students

My students are young, excited learners with diverse backgrounds. They are always eager to take on new challenges and explore. My students are high achievers, yet, from various different economic backgrounds. Our school is considered to be a school of need according to the number of students that qualify financially for free lunch programs.

My students are very active; therefore, I try to create projects that keep them moving, thinking, and challenging. With students eager to learn, I definitely want to make sure that I have the necessary resources for them to complete their project.

As a Health and Physical Education teacher, I keep my students moving and active. Therefore, whenever possible we are working out of the classroom either in the gym or outside. The challenge to giving instruction in these two areas are that they are large and at times when my kids are active in the lesson, the location makes it hard for them to hear me without screaming.

The portable speaker with a microphone will allow me to project my voice to my students where they can all hear me no matter where they are located in the gym or outside. The aux chords will be used for me to be able to play music while the kids are doing activities in the gym or outside. Shutting off the music is another form of me getting my students' attention and they also like having music played when we are warming up for class.

In Their Own Words

My goal is to make sure I can hear my teacher's instructions when they are given. I love my Health and Physical Education class because our teacher teaches us about staying healthy in a fun way. Many times when we are outside doing activities, I can't hear her. I think a portable speaker will be what we need.

As a leader, I will set the portable speaker up for my teacher and help her bring it down to the field or in the gym. My teacher allows students to be team captains for a week, so part of my duty would be to make sure my class is ready for exercise and have the music ready.

This project is important to me because I like to make sure everything I do is done correctly. Our teacher teaches us how to play different sports, what exercises are healthy for us to do, how to run, and how to live healthy lives. I love learning about the different sports, so I need to know what to do.
