Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is made up of 26 low-income students, 12 girls and 14 boys. I have 8 English language learners who need total physical response and other visual, and or auditory scaffolds to increase their English language development. The rest of my students are reclassified English learners. As a 1 to 1 iPad school, the students have become literate in utilizing multiple applications like iMovie, and Keynote. They are enthusiastic and highly motivated by technology, which is enhancing their learning tremendously.

My Project

At our school we have a science lab, which we utilized weekly. However, due to online learning students do not get to learn science concepts through hands on experiences. Unfortunately they have been solely learning through watching my demonstrations and videos.

Please help provide each of my students these Science Kits to enable and enhance their learning through hands on science experiments.

I have found inequality in the fact that a handful of my students can do some of the experiments assigned, whereas the majority cannot access due to lack of supplies.
