Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am the volleyball coach of 20 amazing high school girls. Last year they found out that I played volleyball in high school and begged me to start a team. So we had try-outs and 85 girls showed up for the first day. Our school is 9-12 Charter and we only have 550 students. I would have taken them all if I could but our facilities and equipment is minimal.

So now my group has been practicing and I want them all to be able to have their own ball to practice with at school and equipment to train their muscles to be stronger.

This project will benefit my students by giving them the opportunity to advance in the sport and gain much needed self confidence. I already see a difference in the way they view themselves and others and only wish I could reach more of them by letting them on the team.

By funding my project you will help empower female student athletes for years to come. As their muscles getting stronger and they can hit harder so will their determination.
