Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach first grade in a high poverty classroom in Pennsylvania. My class includes special education and ESL students. I have a high percentage of visual learners.

My students love to create research projects and search pictures and animal videos on the Internet. The problem is that we only have three workable computers and all my students cannot see the screen at the same time. Only three or four students can work at once which creates problems.

I would love to have a projector so we could all see whatever is on the screen altogether. So much discussion and open ended thinking would thrive! The possibilities are endless with what they could do. Power Point presentations, Internet information, educational films, the possibilities are literally endless.

Your donation would absolutely empower my students to no end! I couldn't even begin to describe how they would benefit from the visual learning that would be possible and the effects it would have on them. My students are all visual learners and it is difficult for them to see anything abstract because of their age. Most of them have never even seen a beach, a forest, a mountain, other places, cities, states or national monuments. This projector would totally open up their world and they could see what is out there and hope for more. Motivation would soar with their imaginations.
