Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege of teaching Makerspace to an amazing group of all-girl students, Pre K through 4th grade, who strive to grow up and leave their mark in STEAM science, technology, engineering, art, and math fields. Makerspace is a class where kids can explore and be creative while learning to use both physical and digital tools and materials.

I often leave school in awe of the fierce females they are becoming.

Every day, girls come to Makerspace excited and ready to master a new tool. They dive in with curiosity and wonder while embracing and learning from failure along the way. They are truly inspiring.

My Project

Women make up half of the college graduate workforce population, but they only hold 29% of the science and engineering jobs. Your donation will be a step in the right direction to close that gender gap.

With your support, Makerspace classes at our all-girl school will have the opportunity to work hands-on while designing and solving real world problems in their school and community.

Our students will learn tool safety and skills while working through the design thinking process by taking a step back and looking at their community as a whole with curiosity and empathy. By the end of the project, they will have creatively engineered prototypes and have working finished product.
