My Students

I currently support K-5 grade scholars and teachers in the Miami, Florida area. My students live in a difficult neighborhood of extreme poverty. These students are bright, intuitive, and have the drive to succeed no matter their circumstances. They work super hard and are eager to explore, discover and learn. My students attend one of the lowest-achieving schools with little access to resources and experiences.

My students face unimaginable obstacles inside and outside of the classroom.

A majority of my students are at least a grade level behind where they should be, but that doesn't affect their determination to succeed. My students have a growth mindset, and they continue to amaze me with their perseverance and persistence. They will succeed. They will achieve.

My Project

I am requesting a subscription to Flocabulary which has been an essential tool in my classroom! Every year, I’ve used Flocabulary to engage and capture the attention of my students on topics or areas that they may not necessarily be interested in!

Flocabulary creates catchy-rap songs to introduce common ELA concepts, that students can’t help but enjoy listening or dancing to!

Given our world today, my students have loved to view Flocabulary videos in the past, and I want to continue providing them with this awesome and innovative resource!
