My Students

Pablo Picasso said, "Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up." At my school I want to teach my students skills that can help them use their creativity as they grow from child to adult as an artist

The students at our school have awesome creativity but limited resources to use in various types of art.

Working with students in the Library I am able to teach to their specific interests and often, they light up and get most excited when we explore, talk about, and make art.

My Project

By having access to digital cameras in our school, students will not only be able to learn about this artist's tool, but also gain experience using it. By pairing research with real practice, students can explore digital photography as an art form first hand. We will also be able to use the digital cameras to build our after school animation program. With more cameras in to use, more students will be able to create animated movies.

By learning about and using digital cameras in different ways, students can gain exposure to tools and creative outlets that may inspire them to pursue a career path in photography or animation.
