My Project

Students in my classroom often need a trusted space to use skills and strategies to help them engage in a learning environment. Calming tools and Fidgets are made available to students to use to help increase engagement and overall academic success. Calming and Fidget tools can be surprisingly effective in helping students engage in learning, and there are a few key reasons why:

Improved Focus: For some students, especially those with ADHD or sensory processing needs, fidgeting can help channel excess energy and improve concentration.

By providing a physical outlet for their need to move, fidgets can help them stay focused on the task at hand.

Stress Relief: Calming and Fidgeting can also act as a stress reliever. When students are anxious or overwhelmed, using a fidget tool can help calm their nerves and make them feel more comfortable in the learning environment.

Enhanced Cognitive Function: Engaging in light physical activity, like fidgeting, can increase blood flow to the brain and enhance cognitive function. This can make it easier for students to process information and stay engaged with their lessons.

Increased Engagement: Calming tools and Fidgets can make learning more interactive. When used appropriately, they can keep students engaged and motivated, especially if they're allowed to use them in a way that complements their learning activities.

Personalization: Calming tools and Fidgets come in various forms, and students can choose ones that work best for them. This personalization can make them more effective, as students are using tools that meet their specific needs.
