My Project
Children are not able to learn if their emotions are in a heightened state. I am asking for these supplies to create three different calm settings where I can meet with students and give them an outlet to let their walls down. There are so many stressors including friends, home life, environmental factors, etc. that prevent students from being fully present and doing their best in school. My space will allow them the safe place needed to center themselves to focus on their work.
My goals for this project is to make children feel that they are safe, loved, and free to express themselves.
I want children to feel the calming atmosphere when I counsel them.
I work with students that are struggling emotionally. I have the ability to help them during the school day learn to manage emotions and make them feel valued.
