Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a low-income school in Queens, NY. As schools take steps towards getting back into reality and away from covid restrictions, students all over our country are getting overwhelmed with requirements and expectations. Thanks to social media, they have taken steps back in regards to socializing with one another. In this case, they have not fully learned proper coping strategies and techniques to keep them calm. The zen garden, diffuser, and sensory toys will enhance my class's calming corner. Students have posters and tools in the classroom to remind them of proper strategies to use based on the situation.

In addition, birthdays used to be a big thing to celebrate growing up.

Although we can not celebrate with food, I would always love to give my students a little something to make them feel special. The bracelets, pencils, and certificates will be given to honor the birthday child.
