Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of my biggest struggles this year is figuring out solutions for students who are triggered by too much noise and activity. Classrooms involve a lot of partner and table talks, hands-on activities, and movement. For children who need help understanding personal space, and how to feel emotions without acting out destructively a calm corner or safe space can help them regulate their bodies. Focusing can be especially difficult for children with ADHD or on the spectrum when the classroom is noisy with lots of movement. I love this tent with soft colors and objects to help them feel feelings without punching, hitting, or screaming. This would make a great calming space!
