My Project

My twenty-one students are creative, caring, active and have a great sense of humor. They also have various mild/moderate disabilities that make each one unique and special. Their disabilities include Autism, Cerebral Palsy, various genetic disorders, Learning disabilities and more. They love to laugh, dance, play, perform, and they all have their individual preferences that they like to do. They all learn differently and that makes my job so much fun to figure out how to teach each individual student. These calming sensory room resources such as sand, squishy balls, fabric hugging balls, de-escalation tent, oil/water flippers, translucent shapes, and sensory organization bins will provide my students the opportunity to regulate their sensory needs and refocus their attention to their classwork. These sensory manipulatives will give the students , feel, sense, touch, and compression for those that need that sensory input. The various types of materials will help calm and relax the students while doing their center rotations.
