Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with preschool students with special needs that exhibit a variety of sensory needs. Their sensory needs often inhibit their learning. In order to maximize their learning time, we need to help them relax and calm their bodies. By doing so, they will be able to maintain attention during class activities.

The items listed will help me provide the necessary tools and strategies to meet the needs of this preschool classroom.

Weighted blankets help children from becoming distracted from external sensory stimuli in the environment. Weighted vests help to increase focus/attention, increase seated time on-task and assist in self-regulating.

Materials will be used throughout the day and during quiet time. The materials will assist in each students individualized sensory specific needs.
