My Project

My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources above basic school supplies. One of the biggest challenges my families face is the ability to provide extra resources and opportunities for their children. A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes and need support provided in the classroom.

Many of my students have special needs and need additional sensory supports to help them to stay calm and self regulate in the classroom environment to maximize learning.

These sensory supports including weighted items, seating options, and fidget tools will help support their sensory needs and help them keep their body calm to allow them to participate in classroom activities. My students are the youngest learners in our very diverse school district. Each child comes to me with varying challenges and needs.
