My Project

I would like to purchase furniture and related items to develop a calming workspace in my classroom. This space will allow students who are experiencing emotional distress to inhabit a serene and soothing environment. This environment will support students in engaging with learning while also tending to their mental health needs.

My goals for this project will be to acquire comfortable seating, a large hot-water kettle, and journals to complete a positive mental health space in my classroom.

These items will facilitate an area where students can feel supported in order to authentically engage with the class at the same time.

What makes my students special are that they come from zip codes all over Philadelphia. Because of this, my classroom represents a variety of neighborhoods that bring a wealth of experiences into our learning context.
