Help me create a welcoming space for all my students! While materials will aid in the aesthetic of a welcoming space for students, they will also push the school counseling department to continue growing and building upon services already provided. Whether students are participating in small groups, working on academic assignments, or working with school counselors individually, students should be able to relax, de-escalate, and enjoy their time with the mental health professionals at their school.

In order to make my vision come true, I am asking for a couch and pillows, a rug, a floor lamp, and artificial plants. My hope is that these items will help me create a space that is inviting and safe for all my students. In addition to providing direct services to students, my office is frequently used for brunch and lunch, so additional seating is needed. I am also asking for a broom to clean up after the messy teenagers, especially after food is consumed.
While our counseling department continues to grow and expand, it is important to have a space that is curated to welcome collaboration and mental health support. We want to ensure that each individual who comes through our doors feels safe and welcomed.
