Calming Corner

Help me give my students a space to calm themselves and reflect on their feelings in a safe space to feel included and like they belong in the special education self-contained classroom.

My Project

I am a special education self-contained teacher, and my goal is to establish a secure and friendly environment where every student can feel included and supported. In my classroom, I wish to use the supplies for a calming corner such as a carpet and bean bags. When we feel overwhelmed by a range of emotions, it might be challenging to express ourselves so easily. In addition to being able to express themselves in a safe and secure environment, students will have a greater understanding of their emotions and how to manage them in an environment that is soothing.
