Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year I wish to have a place for students in my classroom to be able to cool off and regulate their emotions. Having a calming corner in my classroom will offer numerous benefits to my students

This clam corner will support students emotional well-being and their learning environment.

A calming corner provides a designated space where students can learn to identify and regulate their emotions. This corner will help students acknowledge and express their feelings in a safe space.

The presence of a calming corner also allows children to take responsibility for their emotions, reactions, and choices. By allowing students to choose calming strategies independently, they learn to control their responses when feeling overwhelmed, promoting self-awareness and self-regulation.

Encouraging students to use the calming corner without judgment fosters independence and confidence in managing their emotions.

Please help me start creating a cozy calming corner for my students filled with a sensory tools, a comfortable safe to sit, fidgets, other resources to help them self-regulate when big feelings arise.
