This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Adding new bookshelves and lamps to our 5th-grade classroom will help create a calming corner by making the environment feel inviting, organized, and soothing for students who need a quiet space to regroup their emotions.

A well-structured bookshelf with a variety of books will encourage my students to relax and immerse themselves in reading while warm, soft lamps can create a cozy and calming atmosphere.

Calming corners are important in elementary schools because they provide a designated space for students to regulate their emotions, practice self-monitoring techniques, and develop emotional awareness.
