My Project

Hello, generous supporters!

I am a special education teacher with the privilege of teaching an incredible group of bilingual students with autism and speech impairments.

My students are bright, curious, and full of potential, but they face significant challenges in expressing themselves and managing their emotions.

To support them, I am seeking your help to create a calming corner in our classroom—a safe space where my students can learn to regulate their emotions, handle frustrations, and practice positive behavior strategies. We need books, plush toys, feelings charts, and other materials.

Many of my students struggle to express their needs and emotions verbally. Without the tools to manage their feelings, they can become overwhelmed, disrupting their learning and interactions. A calming corner will provide them with the resources and space they need to:

Take a break and decompress during challenging moments.

Learn to identify and name their emotions.

Develop self-soothing techniques and coping strategies.

Return to learning with a clearer mind and a calmer demeanor.

Your support will make a tangible difference in the lives of my students.

Together, we can empower them to navigate their emotions, build resilience, and thrive in and out of the classroom.
