The 2021-2022 year will be back in school full time! For most of my students, this will be their first year of school, so my job is to make it the best. Seventy-five percent of the students at my school qualify for free lunch. Every student also qualifies for free breakfast every day. My school is full of great students, parents, teachers, staff, and administration. We work together to make sure each child is getting the best education they can! We all become family!
My Project
A Calming Corner is needed in my classroom. Many of my students need a break to relax and use stress relieving toys. Everyone has a different story during these hard times, and I want to provide somewhere in the classroom where they can relax and not worry about any stresses in their life. When something is bothering them at home or at school, they will know they can always take a break to help regain their focus and come back to their desk to work.
We have 25 students in our classroom, for some students this is the first time they have been around anyone other than their families.
It is very overwhelming and can stress these kids without no one even knowing. I will teach them to let me know when they need a break and they can relax in the calming corner until they are ready to return.
