Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A calm-down corner, or calm-down area, is a space in a classroom where kids can go to have alone time and calm down. It’s not a time-out or a punishment. It simply provides kids a safe space to regain their composure.

With so many outside distractions that are out of our control, this calming corner would be so beneficial for students' social-emotional development!

This would be a safe place where students can go when they are feeling overwhelmed and anxious. This would help students develop a growth mindset. It would also allow the child to release their emotions and then continue to come back into the classroom and get back on track.
