My Project

Our student population consists of young adults on the autism spectrum. Life can be overwhelming and overstimulating sometimes, resulting in the need for a trained professional and calm and inviting areas.

Having a couch, sensory lamps and sensory toys will provide my students with the sensory input needed for them to learn self regulating skills.

In addition. in order for students to open up with their feelings and process their emotions, it requires a warm environment. Comfortable, flexible seating, lights and sounds and even noise cancelling headphones all play a role in our input. Having these supplies will provide exactly what our students need to improve their social emotional outcomes. I am asking for a fluffy rug and carpet sweeper to help keep our area clean so that stray crumbs and trash paper it does not distract students.
