My Project

My third-grade students sometimes experience challenging emotions. Learning how to self-regulate is an important skill for social-emotional learning. This calming area helps students self-regulate and rejoin the class in productive and healthy ways.

My students will learn to build respect and empathy for each other's emotions and feelings.

Students can journal, draw, color, breathe, build, and engage in mindful activities while in the calming area. Students will be allowed to self-regulate and have ownership of their emotions with the classroom calming area in place. Thank you!
