Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Calming area: My students need a space and supplies where they can go to do simply that, calm down!

It is vital for their mental health to have a safe space where they can go and clear their head.

I want to create an area where they have a place to sit, a carpet, some books and activities to help them sort their feelings out and clear their heads. There are also moments when we need to take a bit of the calm area with us, and move a comfy cushion from one place to another. This option of the movable cushions may also allow more than one student at a time to calm and reflect providing a more functional, happy and safe classroom.

Please help equip my second graders with the space and supplies they need to ensure their mental health and wellbeing is being cared for throughout the day.
