My Project

I teach in a special education classroom. My students are all on the autism spectrum. These materials, that includes rug an beanbag chairs, will be used to create a calming area in the room They need a space in the room to go and calm down with sensory experiences to help them reenergize, refocus and come back to class refreshed.

This area will help reduce disruptive behaviors and increase my student's work completion and progress by giving them a space to go and calm down when they are feeling frustrated or overwhelmed.

This is an essential area to any classroom working with autistic students.
