This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a "Calming Corner" will provide my students with tools that they need to practice strategies to teach them how to express their emotions. Help me give my students an opportunity to practice calming strategies. My feelings carpet will help them express and navigate the different type of emotions. Discovery tubes and see inside learning materials will help some students bring them back to their calm emotional level. In addition, majority of my students do not have access to a calm down area at home. Having one in the classroom will be extremely beneficial as they will be able to use these strategies in class at home.
