Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I will be using a corner of my classroom to create a calming area for my high school students. Many of my students have special needs and multiple challenges they face each and every day. At times they just need some space to ground themselves before returning to the learning environment. In this space they can feel comfortable and protected from the rest of the room while they find strategies that help them alleviate any anxiety. They can put headphones on and listen to music, color, or practice a breathing technique while being in comfortable seating and lighting.
