Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Returning to in-person school has been difficult for my Los Angeles high school students. Living in a time of pandemics and climate change, they are worried about their future. This makes it difficult to learn.

A calming area helps soothe their thoughts and their souls.

Students naturally gather together during the class five minute break but are not able to relax quietly and lower their stress levels when surrounded by others. In this warm Calming Area, students will be able to relax in comfortable beanbag chairs, use fidget toys and stress balls, enjoy the quiet, and feel hopeful about life.
