Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 3rd grade students in the Florence-Firestone area of South Los Angeles. My students struggle with expressing themselves in writing and orally and have an easier time communicating thru play and the arts. Having a calming corner with games and arts and crafts in the classroom with bean bags and bouncing chairs will allow students an opportunity to relax and unwind when needed.

Many students do not have access to many of the items I included in my project at home, which is why it is greatly needed in the classroom.

These items will help maintain a healthy learning environment.
