This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a lovely class of 25 first grade students. A calming area in the classroom will benefit all of my students. It will help students de-escalate when they are having a tough time, as well as give them a place to process different experiences they've had.

Providing students with these resources will give them a safe space to regain control of their emotions.

The calming area will also have items for students to bring to their seats to help them stay focused. Students will have various calming resources they can choose to keep them calm and relaxed.
