Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to learn and are always excited to discover new things! They love hands-on experiences and challenges that keep them engaged. My students inspire me everyday with their ambition. My students are the future!

I would love to create a positive and encouraging space for my first graders that will allow them to take time to self-regulate when feeling stressed and overwhelmed at school.

Our classroom calming corner will include, sensory items such as playdough and fidgets in which will provide the students with tactile activities to help calm their bodies and mind. It will also include comfy seating options. I've also included a printer in which will be used to print items for the "calming area" to guide students in recognizing they emotions. These resources will help my students in times of frustration, sadness, anger and anxiety.
