My Project

Our class is full of 22 bright, caring, sensitive, and energetic kindergarten students. I love each of their unique qualities and beautiful personalities. Their eagerness to learn is inspiring and brings me great joy. These Calming Area resources will be one of the most positive additions to our classroom and allow them to feel safe and comfortable exploring their emotions.

My kindergarten students come to school with a range of emotions and these resources will definitely help me teach them more about their feelings and how to manage them.

I have noticed a great need for Social Emotional Learning to help students understand their feelings and emotions. This grant will help provide a calm, safe, and comfortable area for children to use to explore their emotions. A comfortable rug, canopy, bean bag cushions, and pillows will provide an inviting area that the children will enjoy visiting. The lamp, lights, and table will help me build a calm area that helps them feel safe. It will be equipped with hands-on sensory items, tactile manipulatives, headphones, and engaging posters to help students manage their emotions. These resources will help children manage their emotions by giving them a safe place to explore their feelings.

I am so excited to use these resources and know the children will be extremely grateful to have access to these items. I truly believe that we can make a difference in helping our young students understand their feelings. Helping students with their emotions will help them grow socially and academically. The resources from this grant will be very beneficial to my current students and for many students to come.
