My Project

The students I support are struggling to learn to read and sometimes they can experience challenging emotions. Learning how to self -regulate is an important piece to social emotional learning and this space communicates expectations within the classroom to self-regulate and rejoin the group in healthy ways.

My students will learn to build community within the classroom and respect and honor one another with respect to emotions and feelings.

Students can journal, draw, breathe and engage in mindful activities while taking the time to de-escalate before rejoining the classroom learning. The provides students the opportunity to regain composure and problem-solve.
