Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are learning new things everyday, and sometimes they can experience challenging emotions. Learning how to self-regulate is an important piece of social emotional learning and this space communicates expectations within the classroom to self-regulate and rejoin the group in healthy ways. My students will learn to build community within the classroom and to respect and honor one another's emotions and feelings. Students can journal, draw, breathe, and engage in other mindful activities while taking the time to de-escalate before rejoining classroom learning. This provides students the opportunity to regain composure and problem-solve.
