Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A calming area in my classroom will allow my students to learn to cope with their feelings and find ways to de-escalate. I want to create a place where my students can take a break, and self-regulate.

A calming area with books, bookshelf, comfortable seating, calming manipulatives, and water table can help them manage the big feelings that young children often feel.

They need a calming area to help them learn and model good social-emotional skills. The bean bags will help them relax or take a day when needed. The mindful breathing board will help them learn breathing techniques, learning to breathe deeply and mindfully.
