Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students don't have access to a calming area in school, at home or in their community. Many of our students live in the projects and have been faced with many challenges in their young lives. A Calming Area would benefit their wellbeing. I would love to be able to provide them with a space where they feel safe and empowered to regulate their emotions and take on any challenges that may be sent their way. With a Calming Area at school, our students will practice relaxation techniques, reinforces self-confidence, relieves day-to-day stress, and, most importantly, maximizes learning and productivity among students.
